Anonymous on Cinema websites on Opera mobil… First month’s … on First post -my data plans Archives
Well, I have just received my latest phone bill from Starhub. Surprisingly a big jump in the data usage from 19mb to 98mb. About 90% of the time, I use my phone to access the internet, even though I do have my own fixed line internet at home.
However, its still a far cry to the 50GB limit on Singtel’s latest data plan, which has an attractive $22 price tag. My friend that uses his 3G plan, accessing mainly on his laptop clocks a total of 6GB with daily usage of at least 2 hours. If you are using any mobile data plan, pls leave a comment of your data usage.
i think most of our phones currently do not support popular video sites such as Youtube that is flash-based. Except the newer Nokia N series, most of e in built browsers do not have e capability to play flash on sites.
I turned to www.mywaves.com for ocassional video watching. I downloaded their mobile app as well. The application actually utilizes e internal browser to go to their website, which probably wastes ur memory space installing it with no obvious benefits. As e E61i comes with a Realplayer, playing most clips over the 3G network was fine (in both streaming and download&watch mode). Each clip is ranges in size from 300kb to 1300kb depending mainly if its animation or real life clips. The connection speed i got was about a decent 40+kb/s and thus able to download most clips under a minute. streaming is fine (not great) due to e ocassional video frame jerks.
You can also join e network and subscribe to various channels, features u will find on most video sites. Overall e experience was satisfying if u dun mind e quality of flash videos. I watched a few clips on American Dad, Simpsons and A Simple Life, great way to kill time and get a few laughs. I did not see e prolifiration of self uploaded videos, instead most are vids clips from TV shows. Point your browser to their website to try it out.
Note: Opera mobile has some issues on their websites, i couldnt click on either the download or streaming links.
[Update] : 25/05/08: I would be doing a series of posts on various websites that provide streaming videos to mobile devices. They would range from entertainment, general news & information.
When you ask someone what do they consider before signing up for a data plan, they will always reply u the same answers. Typically, what u use it for, how much time u will spend on it and lastly the cost. At $22.42, I think its well worth the money to have some fun chatting, reading up blogs, surfing for information. I seriously dont think you can reach the 50GB limit. I clogged up only 19MB worth of data in the first month using the data plan. That is daily usage of surfing, IM and emailing. There is only so much free time in a day regardless if u r studying or working. and 19MB is WELL below the 50GB mark. I guess its for people who use a laptop and the phone as a modem that should be more concerned with the limit.
50GB = 50,000MB. Besides, my surf speed was never near the stated speed for the mobile plan and my phone cannot support that speed as well. With 50,000MB = 50,000,000KB and if u do some math given a above average connect speed of 50kb/s, e limit is about 280hours of online time, which works out about 10hrs/day in a month. But rem this is purely for mobile users, laptop users might clock alot more data frm bigger downloads.
Its easy to see that mobile data should become more popular, hence prices should continue to drop if u bundle w other related phone services. However, given e upcoming Wimax technologies, i wouldnt want to tie myself down and sign up for a 12month contract just yet.

From above, u will make ur selection for e cinema, film and the timings step by step. After which e page will load e seat selection page.
Unfortunately, this is where everything will stop. E page will never load due to lack of browser support. This is true for both Opera and Nokia browser. However, I am pretty sure that e IE on windows mobile will work. If u have tried it, please let me know if i am correct.
As a Nokia fan, I prefer e simplicity of Symbian OS compared to e Windows mobile. However, it seems to me that e browsers lack much support for mainstream websites.
